My shop
Today I decided to clear out my fabric room. I used to call it my sewing room but, as it is so full of stuff and there is no room to sew, I sew at the kitchen table by the aga. I have started to call it my fabric room. It was out of control. Cupboards overspilling, bags of fabrics everywhere. I could hardly get in the room let alone find anything. It took nearly all day but I am happy with the results. I removed 7 big black dustbin bags full of rubbish and things for the charity shop. At last I can see what I have got and can find things easily. I found a few unfinished projects and some things I had forgotten I had. The room needs decorating badly but it is low priority in this house! I think you'll agree that my shop has a great view too. You can usually see the sea behind the trees on the left but today the sea and sky are the same colour (grey).
Oh what a lovely shop you have madame. Do you serve biscuits in your shop and tea, I so hope so, will be calling by soon, what's your shop called?

How did you get your hands on them ? Are they old fashioned (sorry vintage) shop storage equipement ?
Arrrgghhh....!!!! I am driven temporarily insane with desire, this is the room of my dreams...it's wonderful...you've even got my old Noddy (is he one of the old rubber ones with with wire in the limbs and a real bell in his hat?)Oh my word, I've come over all faint...

ReplyDeleteSo I've been looking around for one of these fabric cupboards, but my main problem has been finding one that is thin and tall enough to fit in the space (or lack there of) that I have available. Perhaps I should just shop around a while...
ReplyDeleteOK - fabric envy. What a lovely, filled-to-the-brim-with-mouth-watering-things space! My mother is actually the seamstress of the family (a 'needle artist' I think she says) as I try to avoid anything that actually involves sewing - but I can never get enough of fabric. The patterns and colors and heft of them... It's one of those places where I have to sharply curtail my collector's tendencies...

If you go over to my "Nanogirl" blog you can see that you did inspire me to organize my fabric! It's not in the beautiful wood cabinets you have, but it least it's visible and finaly put away!
