Blankets and Cushions

I thought I would show you my crocheting as I haven't updated you for a while.  I have taken a break from my ripple blanket, mainly because it was getting too heavy to take to my Stitch 'n' Sip class, so I started a little lap blanket.  I was inspired by Lucy's lovely baby blanket and the colours are just to die for.  I also liked the fact that you join the squares as you go which is great and means you don't have a pile of squares lying around to be sewn together (my worst bit).  I'm loving making this blanket.

Here is the ripple blanket. I shall be returning to this soon as it is so very nearly finished.

Last week I received a beautiful parcel.  The lovely Hen is a regular customer of mine and has the most wonderful taste in fabric.  After seeing her latest creations I wondered if she would like to do a swap instead of buying fabric. Luckily for me she said yes and I am now the proud owner of one of her delicious cushions.

I love it even more because it contains some of my favourite fabrics, that I have only shared with Hen, so I get them back, in beautiful cushion form, hooray!

Hey Donna,
Love the colours in your new blanket. I do hope you finish the ripple as that looks yummy too. Well, I'm honoured you have one of my cushions and it is made from the most wonderful fabric, after all! I did promise to take a photo to show you what fabrics I'm running low on (I do appreciate that such is their provenance that you may not necessarily have more) and I will take the photo - soon!
Love Hen x

Love the blanket Dons, I am not very good at joining together as I go along by crochet - you will have to show me. The cushion is lovely too.

I love the blankets and cushion - all the colours are just perfect. Don't you just hate it when you find a gorgeous vintage cushion or blanket but one of the colours is jarrs horribly?

Thank you for your lovely, lovely words to me on my blog. They mean so much to me :-)

Well, being lucky enough to be able to see your work 'in the flash' I'd like to add that the yarns you use adds to the specialness of your work. The blankets are amazing to touch - your family is going to have a lovely time snuggled under them......

The cushion is soooo beautiful, Donna. Looking forward to seeing it for real.

Love your crochet work! I love the colours you have chosen as well, so pretty. And what a very pretty cushion, no wonder you are hoarding that fabric, it's so pretty.
