I was over at Lark checking out Allison's delicious blog when I came across her post about her budget tin. It reminded me of the tin I bought just before Christmas that I hadn't shown you. During my visit to Saffron Walden I found this delightful tin for saving for those good things in life.
On Wednesday I won some lovely egg cups at a local auction and had taken photos to show you. Allison has just posted about her recent find, a Big Ears egg cup from the 1960's. I have collected these for a while now and some of them were mine from my childhood so I was delighted to win 3 more to add to the group (even if they are a little battered).
So you see, we are living a parallel universe Allison and I. Me up here and her down under!

And that's why you're both such good friends because we all dig the same stuff :-)
I don't recall ever seeing egg cups quite like those; those are great!! :)
You both have impeccable taste, Sweetie - what fab items!
~(:o})=
Hey Donna, I love that tin. I used to live near Saffron Walden and is is a super place for vintage finds! I don't know if the Noddy egg cup is vintage or new, there was a big pile of them on a stall that sells new children's cookware. I should have bought more, I'll try to find out where they are from (the box says 'Made in China' and nothing else!) It's a very cool object though, and Jules is most proud of it!
Love from down under,
Allison x
I love those egg cups, especially the little lady in the pink. When I was young we regularly used egg cups, now we vary rarely have a soft boiled egg and soldiers.
I think I might return to them as I really want to use some little egg cosies that I have seen on another blog ... I just have to remember where I saw them!
Thanks for sharing these little cuties.
best wishes Ginny
fab. egg cups. Noddy looks a bit pissed off tho - maybe cos someone's nicked his hat?
How adorable! I love the egg cups.
can i have the blonde girl one? oh go on!
;0p
What lovely egg cups - makes you want a boiled egg. That savings tin is so sweet too - does anyone save money in this way anymore??? Also it used to be coins that were saved in tins like this - now pocket money comes in note(s).
Ooops Donna forgot to say a big thank you for the comment on my new blog. I did appreciate the welcome Mary x
i've emailed you with all my secrets (Pod's actually) about bigger pics. Let me know if you didn't get it, I might have used the wrong email addres..... but no rush replying so long as you got it.
xx
OMG I had the Noddy egg cup when I was little! It brought back so many memories! Mine had a little blue felt hat with a bell on the end!
