CK is always doing that but good on her she's doing alright for herself isn't she!It reminds me of the vintage wallpaper I found recently aswell.I do prefer your vintage find I think the birds are much nicer.
I've seen her do this before. My friend had some wallpaper in her childhood bedroom which was identical to her showjumping one. Another friend had some vintage fabric the same as her "Ottaman rose" one. I love Cath but she's been well and truly 'outed" now! Hee, hee! Keep up the detective work. I like it!
Hi Donna, I could have written this post too! I have the fabric in the bottom picture. It is a twill weave on quite a dark beige background....I love it. Gotta admire CK for what she has acheived...just wish I had thought of the whole concept before her! Amazing what good marketing can do!
Good luck with the 'Country House' label - hope you are as successful!
Yeah, I recently found a twin (and I mean NO changes at al) for CK's 'Posy' print, a large piece of lovely old chintz. I briefly wondered to myself 'what would happen if I reproduced this and started selling it by the metre?' Would Cath Kidston be able to sue me? (I have heard of a couple of people being sued by CK just for selling things made from her fabrics). I would love to try it, hee hee! Seriously, though, I have so much admiration for Cath Kidston. At the end of the day, there are a BILLION vintage fabrics out there and to be able to select just the right ones, modernise them a little and pull together a cohesive range takes a hell of a lot of skill! And I'm glad we can buy these lovely fabrics in unlimited quantities for those big projects even though I prefer the orginals!

I think the top one is Cath and yours underneath, but yeah I see it...
I think your use of the word 'inspiration' is very polite, Dons. I'd say it was almost a direct 'steal'!
~(:o})=
Top is CK, I think. Well, there is an old saying, "There's nothing new under the sun"
How amazing! I think the top one is Caths, are you allowed to do that? just copy an old fabric?
Very interesting. I suppose this really is a case of "why re-invent the wheel" Mary
Hi Dons. The top one has to be the CK. That's really quite cheeky of her isn't it? The design is so fresh.

gee, can she do that??
the top looks fresher but the bottom is more elegant...for me anyway...
yes, I'd have said the bottom was the vintage/original.
I saw some curtains in a charity shop yesterday could have been direct inspiration for Laura Ashley and/or Cath Kidston.....
Yes, what a cheat...and she's done so well, no fair!
Better to have the original design though. I'd say it was the bottom one...but they are practically identical. Naughty her.
