Day 12

Look we have pink!!!!!! Isn't it beautiful? I am so delighted with it so far and can't wait to see the whole room finished now. It's going to look fab! Ben and Jerry (yes really), are the master painters on the job and are doing a grand one. I can see the end in sight.

On the downside, poor Paul has spent 12 hours, (and counting) together with Gary, replacing our pump.
Taking the advice from 2 plumbers. This has caused all sorts of problems with old pipes and joints and leaks have sprung up everywhere. They have just tried to test the pump and guess what? Still no heating. Poo!

They have taken over the whole kitchen for the day, and all night so far, so I took the winkies out for something to eat at a local pub where poor Lizzy promptly burnt her hand on a woodburner. She has gone to bed clutching an ice pack, poor baby. So another cold night with no heating for us but hey, what gorgeous walls!

The thing about plumbing problems is when it has passed you forget about them but for a good while you appreciate heat and hot water in a way that only those you have gone without know.
Your pink walls look wonderful.

Won't be long now and once it's working you'll be surprised how quickly these problems pass from your mind.

Gosh, so much joy and trouble in one day!
The room is looking like a room again, isn't that fabulous!
Sounds like you've got a mouse in one of your pipes to me!
Good luck with the repairs and I agree with everyone, you'll treasure what warm water can do!

Hey it's you! The lady from 25 Beautiful Homes! I sent you an email admiring your shop site and fabric cupboard (and had a lovely reply) a few weeks ago but you probably get loads so don't worry I won't expect you to remember ;)

I saw a link to your blog from MelMel's favourites and had to look as I love fabric. Hope you don't mind, I'm not a stalker honestly!

Sorry, I forgot to say I love your blog! The fireplace looks gorgeous. We had our bathroom done a couple of months ago and that was stressful enough for me so I hope it's finished soon for you. Just keep telling yourself it WILL be worth it when it's done :)

Looking good! But so sorry you have no heating 'specially at the moment because it's f-f-fr-eezing.

Hi Donna

What a transformation. The pink is going to be perfect! Everyone should have a Ben and Jerry (and a Vortek). Send them to us - there's plenty here they could do!

Poor Lizzie (no longer Elizabeth?). I remember when Hannah put her hand on the electric ring of the cooker (she was about the same age as Lizzie). Must ask her if she remembers!
